PROIA Highlight Companion

The PROIA Highlight Companion is a printable resource created to help you visually organize what you discover as you study Scripture using the PROIA method. It is designed to work alongside PROIA, not replace it. The goal is simple: study the passage carefully first, then use the Highlight Companion to mark the kinds of truths you want to recognize, remember, and return to later.

The system uses four categories: Idea, Inspiration, Instruction, and Identity. Idea helps you mark important truths or principles worth remembering. Inspiration highlights truths that encourage your heart, strengthen your faith, or point you toward hope and trust in God. Instruction identifies commands, exhortations, warnings, and other truths that call for a response. Identity helps you recognize what Scripture says is true of believers because of their relationship with Christ.

The companion also reinforces an important study principle: study first, highlight second. Highlighting should never be used to decide what a passage means. Instead, work through PROIA—Pray, Read, Observe, Interpret, Apply—and allow the context of Scripture to guide your understanding. Once the meaning is clear, the Highlight Companion gives you a simple visual way to organize what you have learned.

This download includes a Highlighting Key that can be printed on cardstock and placed inside your Bible for quick reference while you study. The hearts are intentionally left blank so you can choose your own highlighting colors and create a system that works best for you.

You will receive:

• a full-color Highlighting Key
• a black-and-white version
• a color-it-yourself version
• two sizes to fit a variety of Bibles
• clear instructions for printing, personalizing, and tipping the card into your Bible

Whether you are new to Bible study or already use the PROIA method regularly, the PROIA Highlight Companion adds a simple, practical layer to your study process without adding another complicated system.

Study carefully. Highlight intentionally. Return to what matters.
